Truth Bomb
I’m going to start this post with a truth bomb: the more confused you are about nutrition, the better… at least for the multinational corporations behind supplements and diet companies. The more lost you feel, the more they profit.
It's no wonder Nutrition for Weight Loss Feels So Confusing for Women. The sooner we wake up to this and educate ourselves effectively, the better.
The Influence of Influencers
BUT… (because there’s always a but)! Your next worst enemy? Influencers and pseudo-science peddlers.
Unfortunately, social media has become one of the biggest marketplaces on the internet. Our brains are bombarded daily with fake images, fake claims, and—let’s be honest—fake people. We are being lied to at an alarming rate, and most of us don’t have the time or energy to sift through all the noise to get to the truth.
You Already Know What To Do
Here’s something you probably don’t acknowledge often enough: You already know what you need to do to lose weight and feel better.
You don’t need the next diet plan, supplement, or even protein powder to reach your goals. What you need is your time and your commitment to yourself.
I could stop the post here because that’s really the truth of it. But the bigger question is: why do we keep choosing everything else over ourselves?

Questions Worth Asking
This question doesn’t have a single answer—it has layers. And while you may never get to the bottom of all of them, you can start by asking yourself a few powerful questions:
What resources do I already have available to support my health and wellness goals? (Think financial, people, skills, knowledge, etc.)
What’s one barrier I allow to get in my way—a barrier I actually create myself?
What stories do I tell myself when I avoid stepping toward my goals?
When I achieve my health and wellness goals, how will I feel within myself? (Make it about emotions and mindset, not appearance.)
Turning Answers Into Action
Once you’ve reflected on the above, it’s time to create a plan:
Where do your strengths lie? (Meal prep, easy recipes, planning ahead?)
Who can you turn to for support—friends, family, or professionals?
How do you work through your mental chatter? (Coach, counsellor, trusted friend, other tools?)
Who inspires you? Are you choosing role models who lift you up—or hold you back?
Where True Wellness Comes From
Weight loss and wellness are not bought in a tub or a packet. They are built through community, support, self-compassion, and self-awareness.
When you see influencers or supplement companies selling products that feel “icky” or too good to be true, unfollow them, switch off the TV, and turn back to the power of your own resources.
The more we empower ourselves, the more empowered we feel—and the more action we take that aligns with that empowerment.
Your Next Step
We are not victims of circumstance. We are the result of our choices. And every day, we get the opportunity to make different choices—if we’re willing to take responsibility for the ones keeping us stuck.
So, what is your next step toward your health and wellness goals?
What resources will you turn to first?
Who will you reach out to for support?
Remember: you already know what to do. Now it’s time to act.
