Let's Talk Menopause

One thing I have noticed (it applied to me too before I took charge) is that most women know NOTHING about menopause other than the most basic facts - until it smacks them in the face.

If you are going through perimenopause or are already post-menopause, I bet you don't feel anywhere near as old as you used to think you would feel arriving at this point in your life. Am I right?

"In a 2018 study conducted by Body Logic, of 149 menopausal and post-menopausal women interviewed, only 19% of the women said they were 'somewhat' ready for menopause".

You are still young and vibrant and far from ready to accept getting 'old', but here you are having hot flushes and you realise you don't really know what to expect.

You are not alone!

In a 2018 study conducted by Body Logic, of 149 menopausal and post-menopausal women interviewed, only 19% of the women said they were 'somewhat' ready for menopause.

Confused Woman

"A large percentage of women are unprepared for menopause, yet those who are aware are happier and more content as a result".

The study revealed that:

  • For women who've experienced menopause in some way, the overall effect menopause had on their lives was less than those who didn't have a clue about what to expect.

  • Women who were prepared to acclimate to their new lives with menopause were more likely to experience positive emotional responses.

  • Feelings of femininity and maturity were common among women who were educated about the symptoms versus women who weren’t.

  • Acceptance of menopause also offered feelings of healthiness and even relief.

As you can see, a large percentage of women are unprepared for menopause, yet those who are aware are happier and more content as a result.

This is why I am putting together a straight-talking discussion about menopause because the health of women is so important that there is no way we cannot have this conversation.

  • How well prepared do you feel for perimenopause/menopause?

  • What do you know?

  • What do you want to know?

  • Who do you talk to?

  • How reliable is the information you are turning to?

If you are interested to join other women in the same boat as you, please send me a message. I am putting together the first talk and I want to hear from you and learn what it is that you want to know and understand about menopause and how it impacts you.
